Supporting Cast

Its been eight days since my surgery and I was able to remove my splint/cast today and be fitted for a new walking aircast. I guess it must have been the relief of not being "low-jacked" 24/7 with the splint, but not having to wear it has made life so much easier. No longer do I have to wear crutches and struggle to make it from my room to the bathroom.

I'll be wearing the walking boot for the next three weeks before heading off to physical therapy for about three months.

As far as the rest of my day went, I felt some grabbing in both my achilles (4) as well as my repaired ankle (4.5), but nothing out of the ordinary and definitely not anything to worry about. Groin (5), tailbone (4.5) and shoulders (4) all responded well today as it was probably my best day since the surgery. Even as I end my day logging this entry, my shoulders are holding up well and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that tomorrow can be a repeat of today.
